2023 Millon Wines Clare's Secret Riesling

This Riesling was hand-picked and whole bunch pressed, using only the best free run juice. Displaying lifted floral and signature citrus aromas, the palate is driven by crisp natural acidity with citrus and stone fruit flavours and an enticing, textural minerality. An elegant, well-rounded wine hailing from one of Australia's premier Riesling-producing regions.

This single vineyard Riesling originates from our Armagh property in the Clare Valley from vines planted in 1998. The vineyard is 400metres above sea level and on grey sandy abrasive topsoil over clay subsoil with sections of Terra Rossa. Picked at the cool of night, the fruit was then pressed directly of skins. Fermenting at cool temperatures, allowing us to create this perfumed, succulent, mouth-watering wine. Only slightly fined, filtered and bottled.

Winemaker's Notes

Our 2023 Riesling, significantly benefits from the cooler climate, which allows for excellent acid retention. The wine showcases beautiful flavour development, resulting in a well-balanced creation that will age gracefully over the next decade and beyond. In the first few years, the Riesling is fresh and vibrant, bursting with fruity and floral notes that invigorate the senses. As it matures, the acidity will soften, creating a well-rounded and complex profile.
